STOP FREE BURNING
Our Aim and Goals:
To significantly reduce and ultimately eliminate 'Free Burning' throughout the world. 'Free Burning' contributes to approximately 30%(source: Inconvenient Truth) of all carbon gases emitted into the atmosphere. Carbon gases are the primary reason for irregular global warming and climate changes.
And yet, the halting of 'Free Burning' is the most immediate action humans can take to help improve the environment. 'Free Burning' in most Western countries is highly illegal and strictly enforced. However, in developing countries, only slight attention is given to the 'Free Burning' issue.
Probably the worse region in the world for 'Free Burning' is in the Northern SE Asia region. Here, after the Winter months, literally thousands of people are admitted into hospitals for respiratory and other 'Free Burning' related ailments. Many of these people habitually 'Free Burn'. We feel that this is not necessary and must be dealt with in an educational manner.
Thus, the creation of 'Stop Free Burning'.
Methods:
1.) The creation of paid and volunteer groups to distribute informational flyers educating about the dangers and consequences of 'Free Burning'. - To themselves, the local and global environment. While emphasizing that 'Free Burning' is not necessary and offering alternatives to burning. Such as, placing free brush at the base of trees and other living brush. The mulching of dried brush which can then be sold and used as fertilizer.
